About Us

Design By Vera Yacoub is a Swedish company that was born in Mölndals Skomakeri & Nyckelservice, which is my father's shoe repair- and key service shop.

My father, Jack Yacoub, has always been a very crafty person and I followed his footsteps from an early age by taking art and design courses. Ever since I can remember, we have had passion projects together, where I would design something such as a furniture for my room or the layout of the garden of our family house and my father would then take my design drawings and create it.

One day in 2020, I went to his workplace and came up with the idea of making a comfortable and practical bag to use daily, something simple but yet fashionable. With only a design idea in my head, we started to create a bag from scratch with our free hands - no sketches, measurements or plans.

The result was a 100% Cotton Corduroy bag, which is the product that you can see in the Cotton Tote Bag Collection on this website.

Yet again we were working on a passion project, but this time I wanted to honour our work and share it with the world and so I started Design By Vera Yacoub - a dream that came true through our father-daughter bond.

With this company and online shop, I wish to share my own bag- and accessory designs and hopefully inspire someone who always wanted to have a business of their own, to start.
